The world is changing. You can feel it, can’t you?

The hum of artificial intelligence is no longer background noise; it is the lead conductor of our lives. It writes, it speaks, it recommends, it predicts. It decides. And yet, as the algorithms shape the future, I cannot help but ask: Where are we in this future? Where is Africa? Where is the Global South? Where am I?

The AI arms race is in full swing — America, China, Europe — each trying to outbuild, outthink, and outmaneuver the other. The headlines flash: DeepSeek R1 from China is breaking barriers, OpenAI is adapting, Google is pushing forward. The conversations are loud. They are important.

But they are not about us.

And that silence? That silence is the loudest thing in the room.
